Do You Have an Idea for a Documentary?

Topic ideas will be accepted through Feb 3rd. If selected, a filmmaking team will make a short documentary on your topic and that film will screen on Feb 18, 2012 at the Thin Line Film Fest.

  • Pitch your idea in 300 words or less. Please consider that filmmaking teams will only have a short period of time to create a short documentary. The race begins Feb 10th and ends Feb 15th.
  • For a pitch about a person, include the person’s name and contact information
  • For a pitch about an organization, include the full name of the group, a spokesperson’s name, and contact information.

Docu-Denton 7KThin Line is taking documentaries to the next level with the Inaugural Docu-Denton 7K, a documentary race in which filmmaking teams will create a short documentary in under 7,000 minutes. The race will begin Friday, Febryary 10, 2012 and end nearly five days later on Wednesday. The completed films will then screen the second Saturday of this year's festival.

Anyone can participate! Simply register your team online beginning Janurary 16th.

Learn or hone your skills at the Docu-Denton Intensive Workshop given by Dallas-based documentary filmmaker, Mark Birnbaum. (Optional with registration) The workshop is all day Friday and is followed by the race kick-off.
